Mustard wool roving circular weaving - 70cm diameter

This is a vintage inspired mustard weaving made from 100% wool roving on a silk wrapped metal hoop. This is a one of a kind piece of wall art, made by hand. 

All of my circular weavings are such an integral part of my practice as an artist. I usually make them at times of high emotion, to quiet my overactive mind. Once I get started with a weaving, it becomes a meditative experience, with a definite beginning and end. Each piece takes roughly a day to make from start to finish. This helps me to unwind, leaning into the movement of winding the weft in and out. I get so much peace from making these pieces of art and I experience just as much joy from seeing them in homes and businesses who have chosen them to be part of their day to day. 

It is an extra large weaving at 70cm in diameter. It is a real statement piece and looks fantastic above a fireplace, or on a wall complimented by plants and greenery.
